Violinist Keiko Yanagita and Pianist Misako Osada-Holt play Nicolai Medtner's Violin Sonatas No. 1 and 2, which possess a beautiful utopian world. Keiko Yanagita and Misako Osada-Holt met each other during their studies seventeen years ago in Germany. After meeting again in Japan, they were both drawn to its beauty and was excited for its most ambitious technicality. Keiko and Misako met in Germany, Hannover in 2009. As we both came back to Japan, we started to do a lot of duo recitals.
In 2019 when we decided to perform the Medtner sonata no.2, it was not commonly known in Japan yet we were drawn to its beauty and was excited for its most ambitious technicality.
We couldn’t believe it when Sheva collection contacted Misako. How could we have imagined in 2019 that we would be recording in a forest, fairytale land like town in Lincolnshire in 2023. It is truly an honor to share these wonderful works with the world.
