MAYA JEON'S DEBUTS ON SHEVA LABEL
The pianist Maya Jeon was born in Bucheon (Republic of Korea) in 1981. She started studying piano at the age of 3 with Korean teachers.
In 2000 she received a Grade Ten certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Canada).
From 2001 to 2005 she attended the Kookmin University in Seoul under the guidance of Prof. Yaroslav Pugach; at the end of this course of study she received a full scholarship and she graduated as the best student of University.
From 2007 to 2011 she studied with Prof. Detler Kaiser at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden (Germany) where she obtained the Diplom and Konzertexamen with honour.
Since 2012 she has studied the Meister Studium under the guidance of Gabriele Leporatti at the Anton Rubinstein Internationale Musikakademie in Düsseldorf (Germany).
She attended several master classes with Alexander Kobrin, Arbo Valdma, Boris Petrushansky, Eduard Zilberkant, Gesa Lücker, Jerome Rose, Massimiliano Ferrati, Nina Tichman.
And also she got a scholarship from Freunde Kreis von Haus Marteau e.V. in Germany.
In 2004 she won the 3rd prize at the Hyo national competition in Korea. In 2013 she won the 1st prize and Special Award for interpretation from Ivan Rijavec at the 2nd Ivan Rijavec International Piano Competition in Idrija (Slovenia).
Maya Jeon has been giving concerts in Seoul, Vienna, Slovenia, and all over Germany and she has been performing in Estonia with a Pärnu City Orchestra.
In 2015 she made her debut in recording with the Italian label Sheva Collection.
