This CD is a tribute to the great Bavarian composer, for the 150th anniversary of his birth in 2014 (the year of this recording). The presence of an important female voice is essential, especially because Opera and Lied have fulfilled a great role in the long career of Strauss, who wrote music for seventy years and was married to a singer. The saxophone, in its different voices, is able to perform compositions written for very different instruments in a convincing and interesting way, significantly expanding the repertoire of the instrument.
