LISZTIAN VISION - Jacopo Mai, piano
Jacopo Mai was born in Grosseto in September 1996. He obtained the first level Diploma Accademico in Piano with full marks, honours and special mention at the ISSM “P. Mascagni” of Livorno, where his teacher was Maestro Daniel Rivera. In parallel with his musical studies, he attended the Liceo Classico “Carducci-Ricasoli” of Grosseto, obtaining the Classical High
School Diploma in 2015. He won first prize in the Literary Competition held by the Italian “Dante Alighieri” Society with “La Nave in Dante”. He has attended masterclasses with Maestri Premuroso, Barboro, Bruno, Weiss, Vaarni, Bogino and Chochieva. He is attending the second year of the second level Diploma Accademico course
in piano, studying with Maestro Rivera. He has attended post-diploma courses at the Accademia Internazionale di Musica of Rome with Maestro Kostantin Bogino.
He won the scholarships Campus delle Arti 2016, “Ugo Ferrario” and that of the Biennio intended for students of the advanced courses in piano at the ISSM “P. Mascagni” of Livorno. The
Lions group of the city of Livorno awarded him the Premio Galletta with scholarship, intended for the best young artist obtaining a diploma in 2016.
He has attended numerous national and international piano competitions, obtaining mentions and first prizes both as soloist, duet partner and chamber musician. Outstanding among these are: “Riviera Etrusca”, first prize, International Competition Piano of Albenga, first prize; “Città di Cremona” competition, outright winner; Premio Campus delle Arti 2016, winner.
He has given numerous recitals and concert appearances for cultural associations in Tuscany, including “Terre di Scansano Classica Festival”, “Morellino Classica Festival” at the Teatro
Castagnoli of Scansano, Orbetello Piano Festival, “Recondite Armonie”, Stagione Musicale “La Voce di ogni strumento”, Teatro Alfi eri Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (LU), Teatro Moderno e degli Industri di Grosseto, Museo del Marmo in Carrara for the series “Concerti al Museo del Marmo”
and at the Livorno Music Festival, 2017 edition at the Villa del Presidente (LI).
He has also appeared at numerous important venues throughout Italy: in recital at the Villa LaBarbariga at Stra di Venezia, at the Sala Trafalgar-Recording Studios in Rome, at the showroom of
Longato Pianoforti at Noventa di Piave (VE), at the Teatro le Muse at Terruggia (AL) and Chiesa di S. Michele at Felizzano (AL) for the 2016 concert series of the Monferrato Classic Festival.
